"Yesterday [04/30/04], one of only fifty-three Starships landed at Paine Field, WA, to be part of the new "National Aerospace Interpretive Center" that is being funded by Snohomish County, the City of Everett, and to be operated, and managed, by the Museum of Flight. It was my understanding that Beech/Raytheon were going to scrap all of the Starships after their owners traded them in for other Beech aircraft. But alas, we got one! Due to open in late 2005, the facility will have about 24,000 square feet of display space, a theater, conference center and a proposed hotel...should be nice. As gate guards, we already have a B-52G, the very first Boeing 727-100 in original United markings, a 747-400 from someone, and the possibility of another large aircraft. These will all be [exterior] displays as to build a building big enough to house all the big Boeings would break the bank." -Jim
